Welcome to a ritual for shutting down. This ritual will help you to calmly prepare yourself and your device to shut down for the day. Collecting rest and energy for the night.
If you want to take part in the ritual, you’ll need:

✦ Your device ✦
✦ A charger ✦
✦ Yourself ✦
✦ A space of comfort ✦
(A candle)

Follow the text and adapt to the instructions, still being comfortable with you and the ritual.

To start the ritual, we need to adapt our surroundings to make shutting down more easy. First we lower our volume, craving complete silence.
Light the candle next to you, if there is one open.
Continue the ritual.

Close all IRL-doors, and URL-windows. Keep this one.
Make sure to quit any unnecessary application, keeping the ritual uninterrupted.

Disconnect from any Bluetooth device. Make sure to unplug any intruder connected via USB.
Reduce your focus to you and your device only, connect with your thoughts, your breath, your body, your device.

After reading this step, close your eyes, counting to 30 in your mind. Think of everything you crave in this moment, making the process of shutting down for the night easier. After you finished counting, open your eyes.

Everything you need is already around you.

Turn down your screen brightness to the lowest possible, where you are still able to see the text, and now also a glimpse of yourself in the reflection of your day.

We are now starting to shut down.

Focus on the different sounds, that are happening around you. Listen closely. Count to ten.
Continue the ritual after counting.

Slowy reach for your charger.
Imagine being a giant, grabbing for a hose, plugging it into the fire hydrant. Your device. Helping to cool down and extinguish all of the burning concerns of today. Connect your charger to your device.

If there is a candle next to you, you are now allowed to blow it out. If you successfully followed those steps, continue with the ritual.

After reading this step, take a deep breath in.
Counting to 3.
Hold it for 5 seconds.
Close your eyes with your exhale.

Repeat those steps as often as you need. Allowing everything around you to have enought time to refresh.

If you made it this far, you are now ready to shut down yourself and your device for the day.
Charge all the energy you want, to thrive, and joyfully revisit the ritual tomorrow again.
